Facelift

Don't let your age define your beauty

Ask Dr. Taleisnik

A surgical procedure designed to smooth the loose skin on your face and neck, and to reduce the signs of aging in the facial area. Rhytidectomy procedures involve reducing the creases from the nose and mouth, the slacking jaw line and sagging jowls, and fat deposits around the neck by removing excess fat and tightening underlying muscles, then redraping the skin on the face and neck. Although the procedure cannot stop the aging process, it can turn back the clock on your facial appearance, giving you a younger, fresher look, which can also have a positive effect on your self-confidence. A facelift is a surgical procedure designed to tighten and smooth loose skin and tissues of the face and neck. Problems that are dramatically improved with a facelift include prominent jowls, a saggy and poorly defined jawline, sagging and folds in the cheeks, and especially drooping skin and vertical bands in the neck (“turkey gobbler deformity”). The scars for a facelift are usually very well hidden, and become inconspicuous in most patients with passage of time.

Best Candidates

The best candidates for facelift are:
  • Patients with loose neck skin due to aging
  • Patients with vertical neck bands (“turkey gobbler” neck)
  • Patients with prominent jowls and poorly defined jaw line
  • Patients with sagging cheeks and wrinkles
  • Patients with loose neck, jaw and cheek skin due to major weight loss
  • Patients who want to look younger

Techniques

Skin Only

A facelift involves removing excess skin and lifting or suspending the remaining skin. Originally, facelifts only included removal of skin, without addressing underlying structures. Dr. Taleisnik very rarely performs a “skin only” technique, since the benefits do not last as long.

Skin with muscle tightening (SMAS)

Tightening the superficial muscle layer that exists under the facial skin (a “SMAS” facelift) provides a stronger and more durable foundation than tightening skin alone, since the muscle will not stretch as quickly as skin

Both Techniques

Both including tightening of the platysma muscle in the neck: The platysma, a flat sheet-like muscle below the skin of the neck, can also be tightened to improve the contour of the neck and jawline, and to eliminate or minimize vertical bands in the neck (“turkey gobbler deformity”).

Patient Reviews

DR TALEISNIK IS THE BEST OF THE BEST!!!!

“I actually “shopped around” for the best plastic surgeon, and if I had seen Dr Taleisnik first, I would not have needed to look any further. He answered all my questions and put all my fears of having plastic surgery at ease. He has wonderful bedside manner and is extremely thorough with explaining the pre and post surgery concerns I had. I am so glad I chose to see him. He was recommended by a friend of mine who is also a very satisfied patient of his. I will continue to refer patients to him because he knows how to really listen to his patients and give them the most beautiful and natural result. For anyone who is debating who is the best plastic surgeon out there, look no further. Dr Taleisnik will answer all your questions and once you meet him, you will know that you are in very good hands. He called me on the night of surgery, which I really liked. If I phoned or emailed him with a question, he personally replied to me quickly. You will be so happy you chose Dr Taleisnik once you meet with him. Thanks Dr Taleisnik for making my dreams a reality. I feel and look great:)”
