Tummy Tuck

Achieve the body contour you desire.

A tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, removes excess skin (and often fat) from the abdomen, resulting in a flatter, smoother contour. The abdominal muscles are also tightened during this procedure. A tummy tuck can be especially helpful to improve stretched and loose skin following pregnancy or major weight loss, and will eliminate many stretch marks. The scar typically fades over time, and can usually be placed low enough to be hidden by most bikinis or underwear.

Best Candidates

The best candidates for tummy tucks are:

  • Patients with loose tummy skin due to pregnancy
  • Patients with loose abdominal skin due to weight loss
  • Patients who want to tighten bulging stomach muscles
  • Patients who want to eliminate stretch marks of the tummy
  • Patients with rolls, ugly scars, or deformities of the tummy
  • Patients who want a flat stomach
  • Patients who want their clothes to fit better

Mini Tummy Tuck:

A Mini Tummy Tuck tightens the skin and muscles below the umbilicus (belly button) only, with no tightening of the upper abdomen. The umbilicus is not disturbed, preserving its natural appearance. This procedure can be excellent for patients with a bulge or loose skin in the lower tummy, but fairly tight and smooth skin in the upper tummy.

Full Tummy Tuck:

A full tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) tightens the skin and muscles above AND below the belly button. A greater degree of tightening and flattening is obtained compared with a mini tummy tuck. The pubic area is also tightened.

A circumferential abdominoplasty (or belt lipectomy) removes and tightens excess or saggy skin in the back as well as the tummy. This procedure can be helpful following major weight loss. It is also possible to perform the tummy tuck at one surgery, with the back and buttock lift at a separate surgery.

A panniculectomy involves removing large amounts of excess skin and fat that hang down over the genitals and thighs, frequently following major weight loss. It does not tighten the abdominal muscles, but can alleviate back pain and skin rashes or ulcers.

Patient Reviews

I am very happy with my surgery

"I had a Breast Augmentation and a Tummy Tuck by Dr. Taleisnik in August 2012 and I have to say it has been the best thing. I researched doctors in the area and out of the area, I even had a couple of consultations, but never felt comfortable with any doctor until I met Dr. Taleisnik. I really liked the fact that he was not pushy and try to get me to do extra procedures I did NOT need he keep it real and natural. He answered every question I had and both him and his assistant returned my many questions and emails. I never felt dumb for asking any questions because he always had an answer for me, & was always very professional. After the surgery he was very attentive and called to check up on me. He always had my pain under control and was very considerate. I am very happy with my surgery and I wouldn’t change a thing. Dr. Taleisnik was the best choice for me, and took care of me like I was his family. It’s been 5 months since my surgery and I feel and look better then ever."
