Dr. Andres Taleisnik is an experienced, board certified Orange County plastic surgeon who specializes in performing tummy tuck procedures. The Tummy Tuck Procedure

During a tummy tuck (also called abdominoplasty) operation, an incision is made across the lower part of the abdomen. The skin is lifted toward the rib cage, and the abdominal muscles are then tightened. After pulling the skin back down, the surgeon then removes any excess skin. A small opening is made, creating a new naval where the old one had been. The incision is then closed with sutures.

Many patients become discouraged after having lost unwanted pounds and still seeing no difference. This is because the overall proportions of the body may be unbalanced, or the abdomen may simply have retained areas of fatty tissue that cause it to protrude. In these cases, a tummy tuck, sometimes in conjunction with liposuction, can successfully trim excess fat in the abdomen for a flatter abdomen and more slender, balanced shape.

An Ideal Tummy Tuck Candidate Is Someone Who Is:

• Not planning on future pregnancies
• Not currently pregnant and/or breastfeeding
• In good physical health
• Looking for a solution to loose skin in the lower midsection
• Realistic in his/her expectations and goals
